This popular MMA class is David’s very own blend of MMA, a combination of Erik Paulsons Highly rated Combat Submission Wrestling which brought him much success in Japan,

Brazilian Top Team Jiu Jitsu and a vast range of David’s very own submission skills.

Mixed Martial Arts or MMA as it is more commonly known is a full contact combat sport that allows a huge variety of fighting techniques. The rules allow the use of both striking and grappling techniques, whilst standing and on the ground. Such competitions allow martial artists of different backgrounds to compete against each other.

The techniques utilised in mixed martial arts competition generally fall into two catagories: striking techniques (kicking, knee’s & punching) and grappling techniques (such as clinch holds, pinning, submission holds, sweeps, takedowns & throws).

Today, the modern MMA fighter must cross train in a variety of styles to counter their opponents strengths and remain effective in all phases of combat. However many traditional diciplines still remain popular with fighters as a way to improve specific aspects of their game.Cardiovascular conditioning, speed drills and flexibility are all an important part of the complete fighters regular training regime.As well as this it is a perfect way to stay in shape.
